Opening cut ‘Without Warning’ recalls the tune that rewrote the rules and made Lynx’s name back in 2007, Disco Dodo. One of the true last Dnb anthems that transcended the niches that so often divide the genre. He’s come a long way since then, and recent releases for Metalheadz, Soul:r, Brownswood, Black Acre and his own Detail stable have demonstrated his quality across the board. Lynx’s trademark sonics run throughout the LP, splicing together time signatures and tempos to represent his sound and his label in the fullest. Collaborating with a diverse range of artists in the true spirit of eclecticism, familiar faces including Kemo, DRS, Fats and Deeizm step up to provide vocals whilst the likes of Marcus Intalex and Noisia weigh in to join Lynx at the controls.

With a widescreen vision far beyond simple dancefloor drum & bass, Lynx sets out where others fear to tread and crosses bass music boundaries and delivers a complete package with the kind of finesse only an experienced producer of his calibre can accomplish.

Traffic Jam featuring fellow studio companion Hellrazor has all the brooding tension of 5 o clock rush hour on the M1. Never quite reaching utter road rage its scatty beats and warped basslines are backed up by sporadic car horns and traffic atmospheres. Nina is a track very close to Lynx, written about a relationship that was never meant to be. Heartfelt chords and vocals reminisce on what once was. As the vocal whispers – Love grows naturally…. and so does the track. As supported by Marky, Shy FX, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Bailey, Lenzman and more.

Detail 004 is a solo venture from label boss Lynx, showing the more dj/ club orientated sound of Detail Recordings. The A side,Chess Funk, has been on the circuit for sometime being supported by Fabio (Radio 1), Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Bailey (1Xtra), Spy, Artificial Intelligence and many more, plus is featured on Marky’s forthcoming Fabric Live Cd. The track has all the suspense of Bob Jame’s music or a score from a Bond Movie, with rising crescendos and brass stabs that also wouldn’t sound out of place in Steve Mcqueens Bullit. The Foundry takes a much slower brooding approach, still with a cinematic feel using ethnic vibes in the intro, dropping into a devastatingly sluggish beat and bass combo that swamps any club with huge, warm, yet slightly unnerving bass.
